Tripstat — Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Tripstat (https://tripstat.io and the Tripstat mobile apps, which display the Service in an embedded web view — the "Service") uses cookies and similar technologies. It supplements our Privacy Policy (https://tripstat.io/privacy). The Service is operated by Dmitrii Nikolaevich Korovin; contact: korovindn@proton.me.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We use first-party cookies only — set by the Service itself. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.

2. Strictly Necessary and Functional Cookies (No Consent Required)

These cookies are essential for the Service to work — signing in, staying signed in securely, and remembering your interface language. They are set automatically and cannot be switched off, because the Service cannot function without them. All of them are first-party and transmitted over HTTPS.

CookiePurposeDurationHttpOnlySameSite
NEXT_LOCALEStores your interface language (en, ru, es, de, fr, pt, zh)12 monthsNoLax
better-auth.session_tokenKeeps you signed in after login (session authentication)7 daysYesLax
better-auth.stateProtects sign-in with Google against cross-site request forgery (OAuth state)5 minutesYesLax
better-auth.dont_rememberRemembers your choice not to keep the session after the browser closesSession (deleted when the browser closes)YesLax

If you block these cookies in your browser, core features such as signing in and language selection will not work.

3. Analytics Cookies (Optional — Only With Your Consent)

We use PostHog (EU Cloud, data processed in the European Union) to understand how the Service is used.

Before you consent, analytics run in a cookieless mode: no cookies or other identifiers are stored on your device, no persistent identifiers are used, and data is analyzed in aggregate. This has no impact on your device storage and is based on our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the Service (see the Privacy Policy).

Only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner, PostHog sets first-party cookies (named in the pattern ph_*_posthog, plus related ph_* entries) containing a randomly generated identifier and session information. These allow us to recognize returning visits and analyze usage across sessions.

Analytics cookies are never used for advertising and are not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

4. Managing Your Choice

5. Similar Technologies

We may use browser local storage for functional purposes only (for example, caching interface preferences or draft content on your device). We do not use local storage, pixels, or fingerprinting for tracking or advertising.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy, for example if cookie names or durations change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version; material changes will be announced through the Service.
